Making the Flexi Skirt

Supplied in the Class Material is the modified script named LoopRez 0.6-01. You will also find a configuration notecard named “LoopRez Configuration”. The use of LoopRez 0.6-01 is very simple. All it entails is creating a box on the ground and dropping three things into the Contents of the box. They are 1) the SKIRT PANEL, 2) the configuration notecard and 3) the LoopRez 0.6-1 script. (don’t do it yet!!!). We will then talk to the box and the skirt will magically appear above the box – panel by panel.

Please Rez a prim on the ground. This prim will eventually become the root prim in the linked prim skirt.

We need to add three things to the contents of this box. Note that the ORDER in which the add the items is important. It is best to add the script last.

Go ahead and add a SKIRT PANEL to the box (into the Contents tab). There is one in the class material called “Skirt Panel”. Alternatively you can use the one that you have just made.

Now also add the Configuration Notecard to the box (it is called “LoopRez Configuration”)

The names of the Skirt Panel and Configuration notecard are not important. The script will use names of the first object and the first notecard that it encounters. For this reason, do not add unnecessary things to the box!

At this point, also add the “LoopRez v0.6-01” script from your inventory into the Contents of the box.

You will notice a blue box popping up to ask your permission to link things. It is safe to say yes. In fact, you have to give permission otherwise the script will not work :)

IMPORTANT: If you added the script before the other two items, then the script will realize that it does not have everything needed to make a skirt. It will then goes to sleep. After you added or edited the missing items, you will have to ‘wake up’ the script by touching the box.

The script is voice controlled and it will only listen to its owner. The script will talk to you privately (usually in green text). Nobody else will see what the script is saying to you. You will communicate with the script on channel 100. This means that you have to have to precede anything you say to the script by ‘/100’ (without the quotes obviously). It also means that what you say to the script will not be visible to you or to others in the regular chat channel (which is channel 0).

Go ahead and say: ‘/100 make’

If all worked as planned, a skirt will form above the box.

If you see a little note (but no skirt) appearing above the box, then things have gone horribly wrong with the script. Click on this note to see the nature of the error.
