Linking the Multiple Panels of the Flexi Skirt

We are going to make the prim that contains the script the ROOT PRIM in the linked set, which we will use this to position the skirt. First, we are going to make the prim smaller. Then we are going to move it up into the skirt opening so that it can be used to position the skirt.

We do all of this by saying: ‘/100 move’

Some fine adjustment of the root prim position may be needed at this time. If needed, go to the edit mode and adjust its height using the blue arrow.

Now let’s link up things. The script will link each skirt panel in turn.

We start the process by saying: ‘/100 link’

You will note that the linking process is quite slow. This is due to a delay that is built into the LSL link command.

Finally, we need to remove the script from the box. We have to do this since unnecessary running scripts contribute significantly to lag. Also, we do not want to accidentally create a skirt every time we issue the ‘make’ command !

We remove the script by saying: ‘/100 done’

That’s it. You have made a flexi skirt!!
